Adalberto holds a BFA in Theatre from Florida State University and has been directing in South Florida since 1990. He was a member of the famed ACME Acting Co. and directed the acclaimed productions of Beirut, Welcome to the Moon and The Benefits of Doubt. A writer, stage Director and Filmmaker, Mr. Acevedo has dedicated his energy to the education of young theatre artists. In 2009 he was named Lead Teacher of the performing arts magnet program Arthur & Polly Mays Middle School and delights in teaching Theatre and Filmmaking to aspiring young artist. In 2001 Adalberto founded The Modern Stage and produced the South Florida premiers of plays by Adam Rapp and Will Kern. A firm believer in the collaborative spirit of an acting ensemble, Adalberto refocused The Modern Stage into The Alliance Theatre Lab and enlisted the talents of our area's most gifted actors. The "LAB'" has gone on to produce some of the most challenging and successful theatre in South Florida. As the glass ceiling of South Florida theatre burst open, Mr. Acevedo is looking forward to what the future has in store for his edge loving theatre and its ensemble of gifted artists.
